Add rental car insurance coverage to your auto policy
It’s bad enough when you get into a car crash, but it can be even more of an inconvenience if you’re left without a vehicle while your car is being repaired. The amount of time it takes to repair a vehicle after a collision varies depending on the extent of the damage. Rental Car Insurance coverage can really help.
Mercury customers have the option of adding Rental Car Benefit coverage to their policy on vehicles they already have collision or comprehensive coverage for. That way, if you get into an accident there’s more chance you will be covered for the claim and Mercury will provide you with a rental vehicle while your vehicle is being repaired. Coverage limits range from $30 - $100 per day for up to 30 days. Your insurance will only cover the rental fee for vehicles that fall into those price ranges, so think about what kind of car you need to rent when considering your coverage level choice.
What does rental car benefit coverage include? Mercury will pay the daily rental fee, which includes the rate, mileage charges and taxes up to the coverage benefit selected. For example, if the Rental Car Benefit was $30 per day, and your vehicle was in the shop for 10 days, Mercury would pay up to $300 for the rental.
